Dou Xiao, who also is known as Shawn Dou, is a Chinese actor. Born on December 15, 1988 in Xi’an, he immigrated to Vancouver, Canada, with his family when he was 10 years old. Dou attended David Lloyd George Elementary School in Vancouver, BC, Canada. There, Dou learned Karate and won the championship for two years consecutively. After graduating from DLG in 2001, he attended Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School in Vancouver, BC, and graduated from there in 2006.

While Duo lived in Canada he wanted to become a hair stylist, with the ultimate goal of opening his own store in Canada. He was an apprentice for 3 years in a hair salon in Vancouver before he became a hair stylist.

He returned to China and was accepted by the Beijing Film Academy in 2008. While in his second year of studies, he auditioned for "The Love of the Hawthorn Tree "and was subsequently picked to play the male lead.

Duo then starred in the romance drama film The Seal of Love (2011) . Dou has gone on to star in films of various genres, most notably Wolf Totem (2015) and Youth Dinner (2017), which won him the Best Actor award at the 11th Festival Du Cinema Chinois De Paris.

Dou gained mainstream recognition for his role as an antagonistic prince in the highly popular historical drama Princess Agents (2017). Afterwards, he starred in the fantasy epic drama Tribes and Empires: Storm of Prophecy (2017).

In 2019, he starred in See You Again along side Tiffany Tang as well as two other dramas, From Survivor to Healer and Tears in Heaven. In 2020, Duo reunited with Tiffany Tang in the historical drama The Legend of Xiao Chuo as Han Derang.

On April 27, 2019 Shawn confirmed the rumors via social media that he's dating Laurinda Ho, daughter of entrepreneur and famous gambler Stanley Ho.
